Requirements for a KS1 (Key Stage 1) Position

  1. Qualifications:
    • Educational:
      A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education or PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
    • Experience:
      Prior experience teaching in Key Stage 1 is often preferred but not always mandatory for new graduates.
  2. Knowledge and Skills:
    • Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment strategies.
    • Pedagogical Skills: Ability to employ a variety of teaching methods to engage young children and meet diverse learning needs.
    • Classroom Management: Proficiency in managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment.
  3. Personal Attributes:
    • Passion for Teaching: A genuine enthusiasm for working with young children and helping them achieve their potential.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Adaptability:
      Flexibility to adjust teaching methods and approaches to suit different learning styles and needs.
