Position Overview
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and student-centered Kindergarten Paraprofessional to join our
team. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to support the academic,
social-emotional, and developmental growth of our kindergarten students. This role is ideal for someone
who enjoys working with young children, values teamwork, and believes in the power of learning through
exploration and play.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the classroom teacher in implementing engaging, play-based learning experiences.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce literacy, math, language, and social-emotional skills.
- Help create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe and supported.
- Encourage student independence while providing guidance and positive reinforcement.
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of instructional materials, and daily routines.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities as assigned.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively as a valued member of the kindergarten team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate degree or college coursework in education or child development preferred.
- Paraprofessional certification through the New Hampshire Department of Education (OR ability to obtain NH licensure).
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred.
- A positive attitude, patience, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- Commitment to supporting the developmental needs of young learners through hands-on, child-centered experiences.

Terms of Employment
- Work year and hours in accordance with the Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Verification of health to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Salary and benefits as defined by the collective bargaining agreement.
