Under general supervision, the EHR Application Analyst supports the configuration, maintenance, optimization, and use of the EHR and related applications. This role partners with clinical, operational, technical, and vendor teams to assess needs, develop solutions, improve workflows, and support application configuration, testing, training, reporting, troubleshooting, upgrades, and implementations while promoting patient safety, compliance, data integrity, and operational efficiency. This position is full time M-F 8am to 4pm.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gathers analyses, and documents business and clinical requirements using interviews, workflow observations, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process mapping, and task analysis.
- Analyzes current workflows and application functionality to identify opportunities for improvements, standardization, automation, and increase efficiency
- Develops, maintains, and supports the EHR manual, data extracts, and related reporting requests in collaboration with the reporting and data teams
- Builds and maintains EHR templates and documents while supporting clinical documentation, data integrity and regulatory requirements
Translates requirements into application solutions, trains end users, and manages assigned projects, enhancements, and stakeholder communications.
- Provides application support and troubleshooting by researching incidents, analyzing root causes, identifying solutions, and coordinating issue resolution with internal technical teams and vendors.
- Serves as a liaison between end-users, clinical and operational leaders, Information Technology, support resources and application vendors.
- Configures EHR applications and coordinates unit, integrated, regression, workflow validation, and user acceptance testing,
- Supports EHR upgrades, releases, enhancements, integrations, conversions, and other lifecycle activities while maintaining application documentation, workflows, procedures, training materials, and knowledge articles.
- Supports and mentors junior staff.
- Performs other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree I.T, H.I.E, business, clinical sciences, or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least three years of experience supporting, implementing, configuring, an EMR. Ability to work independently and part of a team is required.
- Project Management or project coordination experience is beneficial.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and document business and clinical requirements is preferred.
- Understanding of managed health care business and care delivery processes preferred.
- Preferred knowledge in the following: NextGen or other EMR, SQL, Crystal Reports.,
- Experience with user Acceptance Testing experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Experience working on projects with critical deadlines with aggressive end dates is preferred.
- Solid understanding of software applications development lifecycle and release process. Ability to handle multiple projects, new requests, support issues, and competing priorities is preferred.
- Clinical, healthcare operations, health information management, or similar experience is desirable.
- Ability to assist with leading/conducting/facilitating requirements sessions, workflow reviews, demonstrations, testing sessions, and end-user meetings is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
- Covid vaccinated preferred.
