The Future Engineering is responsible for research & development of:
- Next generation electric steering systems and sub-systems, including mechanisms, transmissions, sensors, motors and controllers.
- New features & functions ranging from steering feedback enhancements to automated collision avoidance.
- Products for new markets and applications.
The Electronics Engineering Group is responsible for the synthesis, design and development of electrical hardware and software for sensors, actuators, and mechanisms within the Innovation Center. Job assignments are expected to involve a considerable amount of creativity, engineering theory, and individual initiative.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and Develop Electronic/Electromechanical Systems in the Future Engineering
- Electrical Hardware (Active and passive components)
- Electro Mechanical Components (Sensors and Motors)
- FR-4, Ceramic Substrates, Bare Die, Wire Bonding
- Utilize Advanced Engineering Process (AEP) and Lead Product Development Teams (PDT)
- Complete circuit analysis and verify to subsystem requirements
- Work with various competency groups (Magnetics, Mechanical, Electrical Hardware, Software) to Flow Down Requirements to components
- Work with all parts of Enterprise (Manufacturing, Global Supply Management, PC&L) to ensure that key tradeoffs in Cost, supplier selection, value stream, etc. issues are identified and resolved
- Work with Proto-Center to procure all material required to verify design
- Support and/or Lead DFMEA activities part of AEP
- Support Technology Transition to Production group
