    JOB GOAL: Provide instructional support and assistance in meeting the educational needs of students under the direction and immediate supervision and collaboration with classroom educators. Services provided may vary based school data. 

    REPORTS TO: Building Principal 

    EVALUATOR: Building Principal 

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelors with CO Teaching License K-5 preferred
    • Experience in a school setting and/or educational training
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, staff and parents
    • Experience in working with at-risk youth
    • May be required to obtain CPR, First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention training during employment 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Support instructional programs and provide instructional assistance for students in individual, small, and large group settings; reinforce lessons initiated by classroom
    • Assist in facilitating the execution of ALPs, MTSS Plans and 504s for students that are created in collaboration with classroom and instructional staff
    • Administering, scoring, and/or recording assessment information
    • Progress monitoring students based on intervention and data
    • Collaborate and communicate with other special and regular educators and administrators with regard to academic and behavioral issues and observations
    • Provide suggestions, feedback and support to building staff, administrators, parents and outside agencies regarding effective strategies for facilitating learning
    • Maintain compliance with confidentiality laws including Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); maintain confidentiality
    • Create lesson plans for students' instruction based on student needs using research-based programs
    • Work with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning of skills initially introduced and outlined in the classroom
    • Bus and classroom duty as assigned
    • May supervise student behavior during daily activities - playground, lunchroom, study hall, field trips, etc.
    • Attend appropriate building meetings, in-services, school functions, and/or trainings as requested/required
    • Maintain a good work record/punctuality
    • Perform other duties as assigned 

    TERMS of EMPLOYMENT: 

    • Number of Days 164.5
    • Length of Day 8.75 hrs/day 

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills
    • Ability to use proper English grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure
    • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team setting
    • Ability to assist in supporting classroom management systems and reinforcing systems
    • Sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Vision, hearing and medical clearance to work
