Job Description

 Position Location:  Charleston, SC

 Job Description:

The candidate will provide Systems Engineer support in a research/lab environment. The operating environment utilizes workstations & servers running Red Hat Enterprise, Ubuntu and OS X operating systems in both clustered and virtual environments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Top Secret (SCI eligible)
  • A total of 15+ years of relevant IT experience: Information Systems, Systems engineering, design and administration to include:   Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, and Test & Evaluation Criteria in support of enterprise systems.  Five (5) years of technical experience in support of system implementation and installations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical degree. 
  • Minimum DOD 8570 IAT Level II compliant by obtaining/maintaining required certifications such as SSCP, SCNP, Security+ CE, or GSEC.

Skills/Experience:

Individual shall demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • RHEL design, integration and testing of enterprise systems
  • Proficient in scripting using BASH, PERL, Python, or similar language
  • Server and application monitoring using tools such as Solarwinds and Splunk
  • Engineering, design, and implementation of virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix, etc.)
  • Engineering, design, and implementation of storage and backup technologies (NetApp, Nutanix, Veeam)
  • Engineering solutions utilizing DevOps tools for build and patch automation (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, BMC, or similar)
