Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced-level repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance on semiconductor equipment within the Diffusion area. You will demonstrate the ability to take on a leadership role by evaluating maintenance requirements and ensuring maximum availability of production equipment.

You will interface closely with Production and Engineering teams to identify and resolve process-related issues, while providing technical guidance and support to lower-level technicians. As part of this role, you will determine methods and procedures for new assignments and may serve as an informal team leader—directing area shift pass-downs and setting priorities based on production requirements for the rest of the team.

Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively on complex, challenging tasks both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Shift: Wednesday–Friday and every other Saturday, 5:30 PM–5:45 AM

This Job Is For You If

  • Perform complex problem solving on semiconductor equipment in a production environment for the Diffusion area, and participate on problem-solving teams.
  • Work under the direction of an Equipment Engineer and/or Engineering Manager to plan and execute improvement project initiatives.
  • Develop your own resources to solve problems and provide imaginative solutions to a broad range of difficult problems, producing significant results.
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and suggest innovative technical solutions or new work methods.
  • Lead and direct activities to develop and improve existing semiconductor equipment maintenance procedures and systems.
  • Collect equipment-specific performance data, working with Engineering to develop and implement solutions to equipment-specific failures based on collected Pareto data and tool deficiencies.
  • Provide technical, equipment-specific training to lower-level technicians.
  • Interface with and direct vendor support to resolve equipment-related failures.
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair on malfunctioning equipment down to the component level, as needed.
  • Take a lead role in resolving process issues and participate in yield investigations.
  • Use sound judgment in resolving problems, carrying out assignments, and making recommendations.
  • Participate in and lead/direct ERT/Safety events in the absence of supervision.
  • Ensure all required parts are on order and follow up as needed to minimize equipment MTTR.
  • Work independently with minimal support.
  • Handle complex assignments where data analysis requires in-depth evaluation of various variables.
  • Lead important, high-complexity technical projects.
  • Be recognized as a technical expert, demonstrating proficiency in more than one major production or test area.
  • Interface with Production, Process, Facility, and support functions to identify and resolve production equipment-related issues, providing technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
  • Act independently to determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
  • Work in a fab clean-room environment.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Electronics or equivalent.
  • 5+ years technical experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Must have demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance and be able to work with minimal or no assistance.
  • Must have strong knowledge of electronic theory, vacuum and pneumatics theory, principles of electrical circuits, motor control systems and test procedures and the ability to troubleshoot to component level.
  • Direct working experience with Applied Materials Producer, Novellus C1/C2 Sequel/C2 Speed/C2 Altus experience is desirable.

Compensation: Sr 2 -  $34.00/hr - $42.00/hr
