    PURPOSE
    To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs). Assigned educational programs may include both general and special education settings.
     

    MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK, READ AND WRITE SPANISH AND ENGLISH FLUENTLY
    BILINGUAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED

    Hours per day: 7.5 total

    SPIA: 6.5 hours, Permanent starting September 3, 2026

    SPIA- Bilingual: 1 hour, Temporary starting September 3, 2026 - June 17, 2027
    Number of days per year: 188
    Hourly Range: $23.15 - $29.53 (Salary is based on the 2025-26 schedule and is subject to change)

    What is ESSA?
    The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) works to support equal opportunity for disadvantaged students and eliminate barriers to student success. ESSA requires all paraprofessionals working in a Title I funded school to meet certain proficiency in reading, writing and math.
