About the position You take on strategic and technical responsibility for our customer's cloud platform. They define target architectures, security and operating standards and create the basis for deploying, integrating and operating applications securely, standardized and scalable in a regulated, highly available cloud environment. Your tasks They design the target architecture of the platform based on cloud-native principles and develop reference architectures, blueprints, guardrails, and IAC templates for build, run and integration. They define cloud-native operating standards (Kubernetes, Multi-Cluster, Helm, GitOps) as well as consistent deployment, security, and observability patterns. You analyze applications with regard to stack, dependencies, AuthN/AuthZ and operating requirements and derive migration strategies and tool decisions from them; you support the implementation end-to-end, including error analysis and stabilization. You are responsible for the security and compliance architecture (security concepts, accreditation, pentests, backup/recovery) based on zero trust and regulatory requirements (C5, basic IT protection, GDPR, VS-NfD). They design highly available multi-cluster and multi-site architectures including fleet management and test existing architectures for quality, security and operational readiness. They provide technical leadership in architectural issues, moderate reviews and promote onboarding, training and knowledge management (guidelines, trainings, tutorials). Must-Have Skills Many years of experience as a solution and enterprise architect in the cloud environment In-depth expertise in cloud native architectures (CNCF landscape, microservices, 12-factor principles) Design, build and optimize operating models using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) Extensive experience in containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, multi-cluster, federation) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Linux, KubeVirt) Safe use of modern orchestration and platform tools (e.g. Helm, Service Mesh, Crossplane, Gardener) Strategic understanding and practical application of GitOps principles (Argo CD, Flux) as well as CI/CD architectures and Git workflows (e.g. GitFlow) Proven experience in developing and implementing cloud migration strategies (e.g. lift & shift, cloud-native transformation) Profound programming and code review experience (e.g. Go, Open Source, Git) In-depth expertise in security and governance frameworks (Zero Trust, BSI IT Grundschutz, ISO 27001) Strong ability to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders at management level Experience in architectural modelling and documentation Fluent written and spoken German and English Nice-to-have Skills Experience in regulated environments (e.g. public sector, defense, compliance requirements) Relevant architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect — AZ-305, Google Cloud Professional Architect) Profound experience in multi-cluster orchestration, high-availability architectures, fleet management (e.g. Gardener) and data center design Good knowledge of the cloud native ecosystem and relevant CNCF projects Experience in structured stakeholder communication and in defining and managing clear work packages What we offer Diverse and effective projects: Shape the future of digital solutions and work on strategic cloud platforms with well-known customers.
