Here at VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant with a positive attitude to join our team! A minimum 2 years of veterinary experience is required.
The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
In this position you will be support our 3 doctors and team by creating a positive, low-stress environment for our clients and patients. As an experienced team member, the skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
- Phlebotomy
- Catheter placement
- Radiology/ diagnostic imaging
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Patient assessments
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Dentistry
- Laboratory work
- Medication fulfillment
- Patient recovery
- Maintaining medical records
- Providing compassionate care to all animals in our care
- Communication skills

Hours
Our hospital is open Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 6:00PM and Saturday 7:30AM – 2:00PM. We are closed on Sunday, but there is an on-call rotation for boarding pets that need medical attention.
Pay
Our pay rate starts at $15.00/hr and is based on experience.
