Job Description

Synopsis

A company that offers functional outsourced business solutions to blue collar clients has an opportunity for a customer service oriented Facilities Coordinator in Port Elizabeth.

Job Description

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for all the maintenance work at the Distribution Centre.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum Gr 12. or equivalent NQF4 qualification
  • Warehouse experience essential 
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Time management
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication

Roles and Responsibilities

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTING/ MAINTENANCE

  • Report all repair work on damaged racking.
  • Report damaged sprinklers.
  • Report damaged floor rails.
  • Report damage doors and dock levellers.
  • Report lights not working.
  • Arrange replacement of damage signage.
  • Ensure painting of lines inside the DC/RC is done.
  • Do ad hoc repairs or improvements in the DC/RC.
  • Responsible for managing the contractors onsite.
  • Landscaping (Improvements).
  • Reporting damage storm water grids.
  • Painting of lines.
  • Painting of services man holes.
  • Reporting security lights.
  • Do ad hoc repairs in the yard (Armco barriers, paving fencing kerbs etc.).

FINANCE/COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Issue order no’s for services rendered and goods ordered.
  • Check rates / discounts.
  • Obtain quotes for services needed and material needed as per DC maintenance requirements.
  • Follow up on invoices received and ensure payment is processed.
  • Ensure cherry picker machine is available when required.

OPERATIONAL SHIFT MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure pressure setting are correct (Old pump room 800kpa and new pump room 1000kpa).
  • Ensure Diesel pump motors are full.
  • Ensure standby diesel drums are full.
  • Ensure Ventilation systems are working.
  • Ensure Grey water plant is 100% operational.
  • Ensure Gas monitoring system is working.
  • Ensure Generators are all on automatic position.
  • Ensure the static power light in plant room is on (Orange).

SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT COMPLIANCE

  • Ensure all contractors are compliant with all SHEQ requirements as per legislation before they come onto site.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Establish and build a relationship with client representatives.
  • Daily/weekly inspections.
  • Attend formal meetings at client with Operations / Facilities manager when required.
  • Develop awareness of client needs and business and identify potential opportunities within client and communicate to Operations Manager.
  • Communicate and provide feedback regularly to the client and resolve client queries timeously.
