Why this role matters

The Finance Manager is a highly visible, challenging, hands-on, dynamic and wide-ranging role covering activities such as leading the local financial, tax and reporting team, leading the monthly group closing processes and managing the external IFRS audit process. The Finance Manager owns the day-to-day management of reporting, accounting and controlling of Romania.

The position is a key resource in the Finance & Asset Management team and will report to the VP Finance & As-set Management Europe.

What you’ll be doing

  1. People & Team management
    1. Lead and manage the finance and accounting team/process in Romania Office in cooperation with external service provider.
    2. Ensuring timely delivering information, documents, communication and collaboration.
    3. Play a leading role in the accounting department and establish procedures and controls for all relevant finance processes.
  1. Accounts Management & Reporting
    1. Make sure in accuracy and timely submission of the external reporting to statutory and tax authorities including but not limited: financial statements under Local GAAP, VAT, CIT, Land lease, Transfer price reports, etc. prepared by external provider.
    2. Organize and control monthly group reporting for the Romanian Scatec portfolio.
    3. Inter-Company (ICO) Reconciliations.
    4. To be responsible for relevant IFRS corrections to adjust from Local GAAP to IFRS.
    5. To lead period closing process with external and internal team.
    6. Implement, improve and monitor controls over group financial reporting.
    7. Prepare and/or verify Annual Financial Statements (IFRS and Local GAAP).
  1. Tax & Compliance
    1. Tax planning and reporting (local and group).
    2. Analyze agreements and assess accounting and tax treatment.
    3. To follow up on changes in local GAAP, Tax legislation, bring relevant ones for business to the team, and propose changes in business process, ERP system works, and reporting approach whenever needed.
    4. Ensure proper processes are in place to ensure all taxes are submitted & paid in time.
    1. Engage with both tax advisors and tax authorities to address complex tax issues.
    1. International Transfer Pricing governance and management.
  1. Financial Management
    1. Annual budget preparation and stakeholder engagement.
    1. Analysis of actual performance to budgeted (monthly).
    2. Management of the Treasury Function (local banking relations, accounts required and FX risks).
    3. Intergroup transaction management.
    4. Manage Central Bank and other government approvals for optimal operations.
    1. Follow-up on supporting documents for business transaction.
  1. Audit Management
    1. Coordinate and take a lead role in annual external audit process.
    2. Manage tax audit process and documentation preparation.
    3. Prepare documentation for external and internal audits.

What you`ll bring: 

  • University level degree, preferably with specialization in Finance, Accounting.
  • Comprehensive excel skills.
  • ACCA, DipIFR ACCA, CIPA is advantage.
  • Preferred international experience.
  • English language skills (Advanced written & Spoken English).

 

Nice to have:

  • Dynamics 365 or alternative ERP system experience is an advantage.
  • 5-10 years of experience within accounting, tax, VAT, import duty, controlling, budgeting and internal controlling experience.
