Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Four (4) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Job Information Details:
- Analyzing business requirements related to IT systems.
- Working closely with our business product owners on an Agile team to fully understand requirements, provide feedback, and request clarification as needed.
- Designing software solutions per FedEx guidelines and standards, and providing those designs to other team members.
- Reviewing requirements and data models and translate into responsible applications and architecture.
- Providing guidance and oversight during the solution implementation and testing phase.
- Implementing and testing solutions.
- Providing guidance and oversight during the production provisioning phase for a given system, as well as during deployment.
- Leading and mentoring those in less senior positions.
- Conducting design and code reviews with extended team to ensure that code meets FedEx standards.
- Assisting in application support.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:
- FedEx background in Express or Freight shipment routing & planning or package sortation.
- Strong understanding of FXE hub and station operations is considered a plus.
- Skills in languages: Java 8 and higher, SQL and CQL.
- Spring Boot and Spring Cloud microservice development.
- Experience in leading 12-Factor application & Cloud platform implementation.
- Familiarity with microservice architecture principles.
- Object Oriented Design and Development experience.
- Understand of software design patterns.
- Understanding the SAFE Agile framework.
- Knowledge of software craftsmanship and Agile best practices.
- Source control tools: Git, Subversion, TFS.
- Maven and Gradle build frameworks.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps Tooling, such as Jenkins and CloudBees Flow.
- Knowledge of Storage technologies, such as Oracle, Redis, and DataStax.
- Integration technologies, such as SOAP, JMS, and REST.
- Understanding of network design and architecture.
- Knowledge of Application Monitoring Tools, such as AppDynamics and Splunk.
- Applicant works well under pressure.
