Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, designs, codes, tests, drives processes, manages risk, promotes continuous improvement throughout the organization, and deploys software in all layers of the development life cycle. Works with databases, APIs, servers, networks and various programming languages. Applies Agile methodologies for development teams to deliver value to FedEx customers. Provides the necessary documentation.
Job Specific Information:
Acts as a Servant Leader for Global Solutions Development and the Deployed Shipping Solution Agile Release Train. Our Kanban team supports the entire Release Train via 4 channels (DevSecOps Environment, Performance Testing, Build/Install Development and Application Development) with a team of approximately 15 team members. Members that support development & release readiness efforts for Offline Applications: FedEx Ship Manager (FSM/Café), FedEx Integration Assistant (FXIA), Global Ship Manager - Ship Engine (GSM-SE), FedEx Ship Manager Server (FSMS/FXRS), Ship2, Toolbox, FedEx Software Download (FWSD/CA-MDM) and FACTOR
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform the role of Full Stack Developer III by leading multiple, simultaneous initiatives or projects
- Understands the Scrum Teams’ Agile practices and principles to deliver quality products and services to internal and external customers
- Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, estimation techniques, and frequent delivery of products
- Working with various stakeholders, actively addresses impediments raised by the Agile team
- Helps the Product Owner, Scrum Master and Tech Lead in their efforts to manage the backlog and guides the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope
- Supports all scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
- Continuously challenges the old norms to improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
- Works with Environment team to influence a DevSecOps mindset
- Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization
- Leads multidisciplinary research and collaborates with architects, designers, developers and/or engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software, for host based and network sensors and data analysis platforms
- Collaborates with system operators, system maintainers, engineers, application programmers, Product Owners, configuration managers, and other stakeholders to mature requirements
- Writes, updates, and maintains computer programs, software packages, and user documentation
- Develops computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information
- Utilizes stakeholder feedback and system testing to obtain information on system capabilities and limitations
- Leads development and incorporation of unit and integration tests into a CI/CD/CT pipeline to validate software quality
- Works in parallel and support QA/testing as needed
- Works as part of a cross-functional teams that follows Scrum Agile practices
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:
- A proven track record of successfully implementing IT projects using Agile methodologies
- Experience with agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and/or ScrumBan
- Ability to provide project status to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Planning and problem solving with development and testing teams
- Ability to serve as a servant-leader for Agile teams
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with multiple technical leads and product owners
- Gitlab Experience
- Experience with two or more programming/scripting Languages or technologies: (C++, C# , Azure DevOps/TFS/TFVC), Windows OS, Windows permissions, UAC – User Access control
- Experience with databases and servers: Oracle, NoSQL
- Understand Networking Principles (TCP/IP)
- Understanding of languages for our build/install development Installscript, Powershell & Windows Installer api for our offline
- Experience with FedEx shipping automation tools and services
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Experience
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal & Written)
- Familiarity with software testing procedures and test automation tools
- Familiarity with performing within a new Agile Team.
- Familiarization with Agility, SonarQube, GitLab, Nexus, Bro/Zeek
- DevSecOps Experience (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Nexus IQ, Sonarqube, Fortify, Talon, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Ansible)
- Familiarity with Azure public cloud
- Windows Certifications
- Sybase In-depth knowledge
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Requires three (3) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Domicile: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States.
Remote Work: The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.
Relocation: Relocation assistance may be available based on business need.
