About this role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our AIR team. The Artificial Intelligence Research (AIR) team at THE LNK is focused on leveraging our access to unique data to advance the state-of-the-art in artificial intelligence through both applied research and practical applications, with the goal of developing AI systems that can level the playing field for independent brands.
What you’ll do
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to significantly contribute to the success of THE LNK’s business and engineering platform.
Product Ownership: Share ownership of our product, contributing to ongoing improvements that enhance the customer experience.
Technical Leadership: Help define the team's technical direction and roadmap, influencing the overall strategic direction of our engineering efforts.
Technical Improvements: Identify, prioritise, and drive technical improvements through multi-month projects that enhance the platform's performance and scalability.
Performance Optimization: Optimise web applications for peak performance and scalability. Work with state-of-the-art technologies such as Next.js, applying in-depth knowledge of frontend and backend performance techniques.
Mentorship: Mentor fellow developers by sharing industry best practices and fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Be responsible for the design, development and implementation of highly maintainable and scalable systems by contributing at all levels of our web application stack
Collaborate with teammates to independently tackle well-scoped problems, regularly deliver work to end users and be a primary contributor to team’s goals
Contribute to and lead projects - such as building out an affiliate points program and make it easier to build new features through product as well as technical investments
Create and update reusable components that are used by product teams across all of THE LNK
Provide daily support for peers across THE LNK (ex. Writing documentation, reviewing pull requests, answering Slack questions)
Identify and propose tracks of work that reduce tech debt and move our product forward
Serve as an advocate for engineering best practices and contribute to the engineering vision
Be a mentor and guide to fellow engineers

You have expertise building customer-facing web applications, using both back-end technologies (we use Next.js, Postgres, Redis, S3) and front-end frameworks (TypeScript, React, Tailwind)

Strength in frequent collaboration and communication within a cross-functional product team
Successful track record of scoping, roadmapping, and leading projects to completion, with a passion for mentoring and coaching other engineers in a compassionate manner

You have a “leave it better than you found it” mentality, and are comfortable working with and improving on code you did not originally write.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience
Proficient in HTML, CSS, Typescript, and frameworks/libraries like React
Extensive experience in fullstack development, with a strong understanding of modern web technologies.
Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and other devops pipelines.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, from conception through execution.
A passion for creating high-quality, scalable, and performant code.
A love for technology, and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems
Experience (in interest in) productizing features involving large language models (LLMs) to enhance customer interactions.
Previous experience in a startup or high-growth environment, understanding the unique challenges of scaling and adapting rapidly.
