Job Description

Interlochen Center for the Arts seeks a talented Full-Stack Web Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance the digital experiences that connect students, families, patrons, and artists with Interlochen. This fully remote position is part of the Office of Enrollment Management and Marketing and partners closely with a collaborative team of marketing professionals to build and optimize the websites and digital platforms that support Arts Academy, Arts Camp, Interlochen Online, the College of Creative Arts, and Interlochen Presents. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating accessible, user-centered web experiences while leveraging technology to strengthen recruitment, engagement, and retention across the institution.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Consults, designs, codes, and implements front-end / visual updates

  • Consults, designs, codes, and implements back-end / user-interface updates

  • Consults, designs, codes, and implements conversion rate optimization test plans

  • Consults, designs, codes, and implements A/B and user-experience tests and surveys

  • Manages workflows and deployments

  • Optimizes website health

  • Implements technical SEO improvements

  • Assists with website analytics implementation, maintenance, and optimization i.e. Google Analytics 4

  • Maintains website to industry standards

  • Performs routine backups to local servers

  • Conducts user-acceptance testing

  • Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness

  • Complies with Interlochen policies/procedures and acts as a good steward of Interlochen finances

  • Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all students, their families and the community

  • Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth

  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.

  • Three to five years of full-stack Drupal development experience in an in-house, agency, or freelance environment.

  • Expert-level experience with Drupal 11+ and content management systems.

  • Expert knowledge of APIs, CSS/CSS3, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, React, REST, SOAP, ES6, Git, SASS/SCSS, responsive design, web UI development, cross-browser compatibility, and web security principles.

  • Expertise with front-end build systems.

  • Strong understanding of responsive design, user experience (UX) best practices, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

  • Experience with website analytics and measurement tools; Google Analytics 4 preferred.

  • Experience with A/B testing and UX research tools.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, quality assurance processes, and code validation tools.

  • Strong consulting and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide recommendations, challenge assumptions, and propose alternative solutions when appropriate.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to follow and execute verbal and written instructions.
