Arqaam Capital is a leading investment bank headquartered in the Emirates, serving institutional and corporate clients across the Middle East and North Africa. Our technology teams build the trading platforms and financial systems that power the business. We are growing our Egypt-based development team and looking for a strong .NET developer to join us.
The Role
You will work within the Trading Platform Development team, building and maintaining the full-stack applications that underpin our trading and financial systems. This is a hands-on development role: you will own features end to end, from API design through to the user interface, working closely with analysts, QA, and fellow developers to ship reliable software.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using ASP.NET Core and C#.
- Build and maintain backend APIs, services, and database integrations.
- Develop frontend interfaces that are performant, responsive, and well-structured.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and project managers to turn requirements into working software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Write clean, well-documented code that follows team standards and best practices.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external systems where required.
- Contribute to code reviews, unit testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Recommend improvements to tools, processes, and architecture as the platform evolves.
Essential Requirements
These are non-negotiable. You must be able to demonstrate solid experience in the following:
- NET Core and C# — this is a .NET shop and the foundation of everything we build.
- RESTful API design, development, and integration.
- SQL Server and relational database design.
- Object-oriented programming principles and clean code practices.
- Source control with Git.
- Frontend web development with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (framework experience expected; see below).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
Desirable Experience
The following are technologies and skills we currently use. If you don’t have direct experience with them, that’s fine — you’ll learn them on the job. But existing familiarity is a plus:
- Angular (our current frontend framework).
- Fuse (our UI template layer on top of Angular).
- Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
- Azure cloud deployment and hosting.
- Microservices architecture and containerisation.
- FinTech, capital markets, or financial services domain experience.
- Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
