Full Stack Software Engineer – AI Robotics
QVID Talent Solutions is recruiting a Full Stack Software Engineer for an innovative AI robotics technology organization in Watertown, Massachusetts.
This opportunity is designed for an early-career software engineer who wants to work at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, real-time systems, and full-stack engineering. The successful candidate will help develop interactive software that allows human operators to control and work with robotic systems performing increasingly complex tasks in real-world environments.
This is a highly hands-on engineering opportunity where your work will span high-performance frontend development, VR-based interfaces, robotics integration, real-time 3D visualization, and Python-based backend and cloud systems. You will work closely with both hardware and software and have significant ownership of the solutions you build.
This is a full-time, fully onsite position in Watertown, Massachusetts, five days per week. Candidates who are not currently located in the area must be willing to relocate.
What You'll Do
• Design, build, and improve VR-based interfaces used to control and interact with robotic systems.
• Develop real-time visualization environments, including 3D and point-cloud visualization, to provide operators with accurate information about robotic environments.
• Build and optimize software that translates human actions within virtual environments into physical robot movement.
• Develop high-performance frontend applications using React and related web technologies.
• Build Python-based backend, cloud, and application infrastructure used to communicate with and coordinate robotic systems.
• Work with GPU-accelerated graphics, real-time rendering, and interactive 3D technologies to improve system performance and operator experience.
• Debug issues across both hardware and software and contribute to improving the reliability of deployed robotic systems.
• Work directly with robotic hardware and software in a hands-on engineering environment.
• Take ownership of engineering projects from initial concept and development through testing and production deployment.
• Collaborate with a small technical team to identify problems, develop solutions, and rapidly improve existing systems.
• Contribute new technical ideas and identify opportunities to improve the product, engineering architecture, and robot-control experience.
• Build practical, production-ready solutions in a fast-moving startup environment where individual engineering contributions have immediate impact.
Requirements
• 0–3 years of software engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience in React and Python.
• Strong proficiency in React, including the ability to independently develop, debug, optimize, and reason through complex frontend applications.
• Strong Python skills for backend development, application logic, robotics tooling, cloud infrastructure, or technical workflows.
• Experience developing real-time or highly interactive software, such as VR/XR applications, robotics interfaces, games, graphics applications, simulations, or similar technically demanding systems.
• Familiarity with real-time rendering and interactive 3D visualization, including technologies such as GPU-accelerated graphics, point clouds, WebGL, Three.js, or comparable tools.
• Demonstrated ability to build and deliver technically complex software from development through production deployment.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot issues across interconnected software and hardware systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Experience with VR, XR, robotics, teleoperation, graphics, simulation, or interactive 3D control systems is highly preferred.
• Personal projects, game development, graphics projects, robotics projects, or simulation work demonstrating a strong hands-on engineering mindset are highly valued.
• Startup or small-team experience with ownership of features or projects from concept through deployment is preferred.
• Undergraduate or graduate research involving robotics, graphics, simulation, controls, or interactive systems is a plus.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite in Watertown, Massachusetts, five days per week.
• Candidates outside the Watertown area must be willing to relocate.
• Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization. Eligible OPT and H-1B transfer candidates may be considered; new visa sponsorship is not available.
Benefits
• Competitive base salary starting at $90,000 annually
• Equity included as part of the compensation package
• Signing bonus may be available for qualified candidates
• Opportunity to work directly with advanced AI, robotics, and virtual reality technologies
• Hands-on experience working with robotic systems deployed in real-world environments
• Significant ownership of engineering projects from concept through production deployment
• Opportunity to build expertise across React, Python, real-time systems, 3D visualization, and robotics
• Collaborative startup environment with direct exposure to both hardware and software development
• High-impact role where engineering contributions can have an immediate effect on deployed robotic systems
