Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Full Stack Software Engineer to design,
build, and ship features across our web, mobile, and backend applications. You
will work with S3 , CloudFront , React , Vite , TypeScript , Tailwind on the web front end, and a
mobile development framework (React Native preferred; Flutter also considered)
to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences across platforms.
This is a cloud-agnostic role: you will deploy and support
applications on AWS, Azure and we value candidates who are comfortable working
across at least one of these platforms and can pick up the others quickly. You
will partner closely with product, design, and QA to take features from idea to
production.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design,
develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using React, Vite,
TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Amazon S3, and Amazon CloudFront. - Build
and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native;
experience with Flutter will also be considered. - Develop
reusable business logic and platform-appropriate user interfaces for both iOS
and Android applications. - Design,
develop, and maintain secure RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, including
request and response contracts, authentication, authorization, validation,
and error handling. - Build
responsive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces with a strong
focus on component reusability, state management, and cross-browser and
cross-device compatibility. - Develop
scalable back-end services using Node.js and Express.js. - Design
and work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL,
MongoDB, and DynamoDB. - Perform
database schema design, data modelling, indexing, query optimization, and
performance tuning. - Deploy,
configure, monitor, and troubleshoot applications on cloud platforms, with
a primary focus on AWS. - Work
with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway,
DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch. - Write
and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests to ensure
application quality and reliability. - Participate
actively in peer code reviews and follow established coding standards,
security practices, and development guidelines. - Collaborate
with product managers, business analysts, designers, QA engineers, and
other developers to translate requirements and mockups into working
software. - Provide
early technical feedback on solution feasibility, dependencies, risks, and
development effort. - Build
and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure
DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, or Google Cloud Build. - Support
frequent and reliable deployments to web environments and mobile
application stores. - Troubleshoot
production issues across the complete technology stack, including UI
rendering, mobile application behaviour, API failures, database
performance, and infrastructure configuration. - Monitor
application availability, performance, logs, and errors, and take
corrective action when issues are identified. - Contribute
to technical design and architecture discussions and recommend
improvements to application scalability, security, maintainability,
tooling, and developer experience. - Create
and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, deployment
instructions, and implementation guidelines. - Stay
current with changes in front-end, mobile, back-end, and cloud
technologies and recommend new tools, frameworks, or development patterns
where they provide measurable value.
Required Qualifications and
Skills
- Bachelor’s
degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or
a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - 4+
years of professional software development experience in a full-stack or
front-end-focused engineering role. - Strong
hands-on experience with Node.js for back-end and API development
using frameworks such as Express.js, Next.js, or similar
technologies. - Strong
production experience with React and/or Vue.js, including: - Component-based
architecture - State
management using Redux, Context API, Pinia, Vuex, or similar tools - React
Hooks or Vue Composition API - Reusable
and maintainable UI component development - Experience
building and releasing cross-platform mobile applications using React
Native; experience with Flutter, Ionic, or similar frameworks will
also be considered. - Working
experience deploying, monitoring, and supporting applications on at least
one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
Platform. - Willingness
and ability to work across multiple cloud platforms when required. - Practical
experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including: - Basic
schema and data model design - Writing
efficient queries - Indexing
and query optimization - Database
integration with back-end services - Good
understanding of RESTful API design principles, authentication,
validation, error handling, and API versioning. - Exposure
to GraphQL and GraphQL-based API development will be an advantage. - Familiarity
with Git-based development workflows, branching strategies, pull requests,
and peer code reviews. - Experience
working with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure
DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or similar platforms. - Experience
writing unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests using tools such
as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or equivalent frameworks. - Strong
troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability
to work across front-end, back-end, database, mobile, and cloud layers. - Ability
to independently investigate and resolve issues without relying on
specialists for every layer of the application. - Good
written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain
technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and
non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on
experience with TypeScript. - Experience
publishing and maintaining applications in the Apple App Store and Google
Play Store. - Exposure
to containerization technologies such as Docker. - Experience
with serverless architectures using services such as AWS Lambda, Azure
Functions. - Familiarity
with Amazon S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EC2, IAM, and
CloudWatch. - Knowledge
of application security, performance optimization, logging, monitoring,
and production support practices.
