The General Manager plans and oversees the daily operations of the company to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. This role provides overall operational leadership, directs assigned staff, monitors productivity and performance, and coordinates with key support departments to ensure successful production and distribution operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and organize daily activities related to operations.
- Hire and train new employees and ensure appropriate onboarding and operational readiness.
- Organize and oversee the schedules and work of assigned staff.
- Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
- Handle employee discipline and termination matters as needed and in accordance with company policy and Human Resources procedures.
- Measure productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
- Coordinate with Human Resources, Finance, Logistics, and other support departments to ensure successful production operations.
- Oversee shipping and receiving functions.
- Determine labor needs to meet production goals.
- Assist with budget preparation for the operations unit.
- Coordinate with Marketing and Sales departments regarding pricing, timing, sales promotions, and products to be sold.
- Assist with preparing and updating the organization's operations manual, procedures, and policies.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set and monitor production goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Business Administration preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
