Job Description

We are looking for a Grant Writer to join our team and lead our efforts in securing funding to help our organization operate throughout the year. A Grant Writer’s responsibilities include researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals to acquire funding, and working with our leadership team to ensure we have enough capital each year. Ultimately, you will work with our leadership team to understand our financial needs and ensure we attain funding.

Responsibilities


  • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources that align with paws4people's mission.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications to secure financial support for service dog training and placement programs.

Develop persuasive narratives that communicate the impact of service dogs on individuals with disabilities, veterans, and other populations served.

Collaborate with program staff to gather data, budgets, success stories, and outcomes needed for grant applications and reports.

Within the paws4people grant database:

  • maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities
  • monitor grant-funded projects and track outcomes to support reporting and future funding requests
  • maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, denials, and funder communications
  • prepare and submit timely grant reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and organizational standards.

Stay informed about trends, regulations, and best practices in nonprofit grant writing and fundraising
