Job Description

Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.

To be part of this project, we are looking for a Ground Segment System Engineer whose responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Involvement in Ground Segment System Engineering activities with special focus on Satellite communication multiorbit constellations
  • Preparation of documentation (specifications, architecture document, detailed design document, design justification file, interface control documents)
  • Ground Segment interface definition and system verification & validation activities
  • Involvement in technical reviews with subcontractors and customers along the project life cycle.
Minimum requirements
  • Master’s Degree in either Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Satellite Ground Segment Projects.
  • Proven capacity for being the interface with customers and subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Experience in institutional projects and working in multidisciplinary work teams
  • Knowledge about communication protocols and cybersecurity.
  • Theoretical and practical experience in Satellite Communications and/or Ground Segment Engineering
  • Knowledge of System Engineering methodologies with application to the Satellite/Aerospatiale environment.
  • Ability to maintain a system-level view and understanding.
  • Knowledge and experience in software tools related with System Engineering and Requirement Management.
  • Native to an EU member state and willing to undergo an EU secret clearance process.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, any other European language is considered as an asset
  • Location: Madrid
