Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Signal Integrity (SI) measurements of high speed data cables and cable assemblies (e.g. impedance, S-parameters)
- EMC measurements of high speed data cables and cable assemblies (e.g. coupling attenuation, shielding efficiency)
- Detection of failures and non-conformities of high speed transmission lines (e.g. impedance mismatch, skew, cross-talk), identification of root cause, and proposal of optimizations
- Execution of mechanical and ageing tests for data cables and cable assemblies and evaluation of impact on SI & EMC
- Perspective to take over responsibility as SI/EMC lab lead engineer
- Improvement, optimization and automation of methods and procedures for lab measurement processes
- Preparation of construction of required special test fixture/equipment and demonstrators
- Creation of solutions for test automation in plant (end of line testing)
- Creation of design rules for data cables (w/h assembly, routing in vehicle etc.)
- Market survey and evaluation of high speed data cables
- Cable supplier development (co-operation with supplier for optimized cables)
- Support of design and product validation
- Workgroup participation (DIN AK Fahrzeugleitungen, ISO 19642)
