This is a remote position.
StackAdroit LLP is building a private, production-grade server infrastructure similar to dedicated cloud providers like AWS and DigitalOcean. We’re looking for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to architect and set up a fully self-hosted environment using Dell servers, enterprise-grade storage, and internal networking hardware.
You’ll lead the buildout of the physical and network layer of our custom server stack.
Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy Dell PowerEdge R760 servers (BIOS, RAID, firmware, iDRAC)
- Set up server storage (NVMe RAID, ZFS, BOSS boot)
- Configure patch panels, switches, VLANs, and internal network cabling
- Deploy and secure Linux-based OS (Ubuntu, Proxmox, or RHEL)
- Optimize server performance (thermal, power, fan tuning)
- Set up internal firewalls (pfSense/OPNsense), VPN, and VLAN segmentation
- Collaborate with DevOps for container/Docker/Kubernetes readiness
- Document all configurations and provide best practice recommendations
Requirements
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Dell enterprise hardware (R750/R760 preferred)
- Deep knowledge of RAID, SSD/NVMe, BOSS controllers
- Strong Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian or RHEL)
- Networking: VLANs, LAG, IP planning, switch/firewall config
- Experience with patch panels, rack layouts, cable management
- Familiarity with pfSense, Unifi, or managed L2/L3 switches
- Understanding of enterprise server monitoring and power design
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on experience with Proxmox, ZFS, or TrueNAS
- Experience setting up Docker, Portainer, or K3s (with DevOps team)
- Familiarity with Cloudflare, NGINX, WireGuard
- Understanding of data center airflow/power planning

- Must be available for consultation, hardware selection input, and live configuration sessions
