Requisition Summary

Seeking a technical program manager to lead the coordination of vehicle software verification and validation activities at the PACCAR Technical Center. This position will interface with suppliers, engineers, supervisors, and managers responsible for verifying and validating software from the system integration level through the vehicle level. The successful applicant will ensure a comprehensive validation plan is developed and executed to streamline activities. The position will also interface with the technical program managers within PACCAR’s internal software development group, which is responsible for delivering software for verification and validation.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Coordinate integrated test planning between the software integration, vehicle integration and validation teams. Responsible for leading the generation and maintenance of the associated Integrated Test Plan.
  • Manage the bi-annual PACCAR calendar year software release verification & validation budgets and associated resources.
  • Lead weekly reporting on test progress, schedule, budget, and quality issues.
  • Manage software verification and validation portfolio-level schedule for test teams.
  • Work with the various division accounting teams and PMO to streamline and improve the accuracy of the budgeting and forecasting process and results.
  • Categorize, prioritze and track defects through resolution
  • Evaluate existing processes for test and defect management and drive improvements to address gaps
  • Work with Component System Owners (CSO) at the various divisions to understand software delivery timing, develop schedules for visibility, collaborate on risk and issue mitigation and resolution and define clear responsibilities between PTC and CSOs.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in software verification and validation including supporting systems.
  • Work collaboratively with PACCAR accounting, development, verification, and validation teams and actively promote cross-division teamwork.
  • Define, track, and analyze KPI's (test coverage, pass/fail rates, inflow vs outflow)

Qualifications

  • A minimum of seven years of relevant project/process management and leadership
  • Experience with project management and scheduling required
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite 
  • Test planning for business systems or embedded software required
  • Accounting experience preferred
  • Previous technical leadership experience in an engineering environment desired, previous controls experience desired
  • Experience with portfolio management desired
  • Experience with DOORS/ETM or similar software expertise preferred
  • Effective communicator and collaborator in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, comfortable presenting to senior managers
  • Ability to travel up to 10% 

Education

  • BS degree in related field required. Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Program Management Professional preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certifications preferred
