Intensive Outpatient Program Coordinator/Supervisor

Location: 241 Greenhouse Road, Lexington, VA
Employer: Rockbridge Area Community Services (RACS)

Position Overview:

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Coordinator/Supervisor coordinates daily program activities and supervises IOP staff to ensure participants receive effective, person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care. This position plays a key role in supporting program operations, fostering a collaborative treatment environment, and ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.

In addition to oversight responsibilities, the IOP Coordinator/Supervisor maintains an active clinical role by conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual and group counseling services for adults experiencing substance use disorders. Working closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team, this position helps participants build skills, achieve recovery goals, and maintain engagement in treatment.

The successful candidate will be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LCP, LPP, or LMFT) with at least two years of experience working with adults experiencing substance use disorders and a commitment to supporting individuals on their recovery journey.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, human services, or a related behavioral health field required
  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LCP, LPP, LMFT) required
  • At least two years of experience working with adults experiencing substance use disorders required
  • Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License required

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of substance use disorder treatment principles, co-occurring disorders, relapse prevention, and ASAM criteria
  • Working knowledge of behavioral health documentation, and service authorization expectations
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze operational and clinical data
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across disciplines, programs, and community partners
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment while maintaining a calm and professional approach
