AUCH Construction is seeking candidates for a newly created Field Engineer position. This is a full-time, exempt role designed to provide hands-on field experience supporting project teams, Superintendents, and Project Engineers on active construction projects.
Because this is a new position, the role is still being developed and refined. Candidates should understand and acknowledge that responsibilities, reporting relationships, and expectations may evolve before and after the position is filled as we continue to shape the role based on business needs and project demands.
Primary Responsibilities
Field Coordination & Trade Support
- Assist with trade coordination and site logistics.
- Support field meetings and coordination efforts.
- Escalate issues and concerns to the Superintendent as appropriate.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily logs and project documentation.
- Capture and organize progress photos.
- Track field issues and maintain related records.
Scheduling Support
- Assist with look-ahead schedules.
- Help coordinate inspections and upcoming work activities.
- Identify and communicate potential scheduling conflicts.
Labor & Material Tracking
- Track trade manpower and labor hours.
- Support material delivery tracking and verification.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers regarding material readiness.
Safety, Quality & Field Coverage
- Support safety and quality inspections.
- Assist with punch list activities.
- Provide temporary Superintendent coverage when assigned.

Environmental/Position of Role:
This position requires regular physical activity and the ability to navigate dynamic construction site environments. Responsibilities include extensive walking across varied terrains, climbing ladders, and working at heights. Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying of items over 10 pounds are integral to the role. Candidates must be comfortable managing the physical demands typical of an active construction site, ensuring safety and productivity while maintaining oversight of daily operations.
