About the Job 

Our main product is the business logic for group contract insurance and the file (GUI) within the German ABS system, which manages all changes relating to various group contract insurance products. You will be working in our team of software developers and in close relationship to our business analysts.

What you do

• Design, develop, and maintain business logic for group contract insurance products within the German ABS system
• Develop and enhance the GUI (file) components for managing changes to group contract insurance products
• Collaborate closely with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following team standards
• Perform unit testing and integration testing using JUnit and Tosca to ensure software quality
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for DB2 databases
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
• Manage version control and branching strategies using GIT
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, ensuring timely delivery of fixes
• Document technical specifications and development processes in Confluence
• Track and manage development tasks and issues in Jira
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
• Collaborate with team members in an agile development environment

What you bring

• Completed studies in (business) computer science (BA, MA) or comparable qualifications and working experience
• Working experience with common development environments, test methods and software engineering tools (Eclipse, JUnit, Jira, etc.)
• Advanced SQL knowledge
• Ability to work independently, high level of commitment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Knowledge in AI-assisted development
• Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.

Our expectations regarding language:

• Fluent German language skills (min. B2) required to enable efficient collaboration with team members and ensure the correct understanding of insurance terminology used in all exchanges.
