 Job Description:

ICF is seeking an experienced Java Developer with 1 to 3 years of experience to support the system engineering and development activities of its CDC client in Atlanta. You will be a member of a small high-performing innovative Agile team rapidly developing and deploying APIs (REST Web Services; Microservices) and Responsive Web Applications in a DevOps Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) environment.

The Java Developer’s primary responsibilities are to perform the following activities throughout an Agile iterative and incremental software development lifecycle;

• Continuously engage your team’s business analyst, web developer, testers, and other developers to rapidly design, develop, test, and deploy REST APIs and Microservices in a team-driven Agile Scrum and DevOps environment.
• Provide cross-functional, team focused skills to continually deliver API features and capabilities incrementally as the requirements, designs, and QA feedback progress during Agile Sprint increments.
• Engage with DevOps engineers to create an Jenkins environment to continuous build, test, and deploy your APIs and asynchronous microservices.
• The ideal and favored candidate will have prior experience designing and developing high-quality and high-performance Java APIs and microservices and responsive web application integrated with APIs in an Agile Scrum and DevOps environment.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Java APIs and microservice application incrementally as your team’s business analyst and web developers define and refine APIs specifications following an Agile Scrum development lifecycle.
  • Develop JUnit test scripts to validate your API business rules and technical requirements to be executed with each Jenkins build.
  • Assist team tester create automated integration and performance test case solutions for implementation in a continuous integration DevOps environment.
  • Effectively communicate with your Agile team members to continuously deliver and improve integrated UI\/UX web and API products of high quality.
  • Work closely with Business Analyst or Designers to fully document APIs using Swagger API specification tools.
  • Maintain all code and other product artifacts in GIT repositories with full technical documentation of technologies used.
  • Assist DevOps engineers establish continuous deployment process deploying APIs to a RedHat OpenShift Docker Container Platform.
  • Work with Product Owners to ensure all members of the Scrum team (Business Analyst, Designers, Testers) actively engage and participate in refining requirements as User Stories and Acceptance Criteria; and in determining level of effort for each User Story (i.e., story points).

    Basic minimum qualifications:

    • BS in computer sciences or related field or equivalent Java development experience.
    • 1-3 years of experience developing Java REST APIs using JSON.
    • Java full stack developer with knowledge in Linux and RedHat development environments.
    • Proficient in Java 8+.
    • Proficient knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot libraries.
    • Proficient creating Maven build scripts in Jenkins CI\/CD environment.
    • Proficient integrating with databases using Hibernate and JPA libraries..

      • Strong experience using REST web service frameworks such as Jersey or Spring Boot.
      • Strong experience developing relational database models for Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, and MySQL.
      • Strong experience hosting Java application in RedHat JBoss or Apache Tomcat.
      • Strong experience implementing security solutions using oAuth2 and encryption solutions such as Volmetric Transparent Encryption solution.
      • Experience developing Java APIs hosting on RedHat Linux platforms and deployed to OpenShift Docker Container Platform.
      • Experience integrating Java applications with in-memory databases such as Redis and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and CouchDB.
      • Experience with JSON Web Signature (JWS), A-MQ (Asynchronous Message Broker), and BRMS (Business Rules) is desirable.
      • Experience integrating with Elastic search stack (Elastic, Kibana, Logstash) is desirable.
      • Experience developing Node.js or Ruby on Rails APIs is desirable.
      • Other desirable technical skills include Apache Kafka, Zookeeper, RabbitMQ, Tensorflow, Microreact, HL7 2.5. and HL7 FHIR.
