A large Australian financial institution has engaged us to provide resources for their Digital transformation & app modernization on multiple applications.
We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications. You will play a key role throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Core Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement scalable Microservices following industry best practices.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrate applications with internal and external systems.
- Build and support event-driven solutions using Kafka.
- Apply SOLID principles and Design Patterns to produce clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Develop cloud-native applications and support deployments on cloud platforms.
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and application performance.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with Architects, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
- Contribute to CI/CD implementation and support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Produce technical documentation and ensure compliance with coding standards, security guidelines, and quality processes.
Skills
Must have
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java.
- Strong experience in developing applications using Spring Boot.
- Experience working with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven applications.
- Strong understanding of Design Principles, SOLID principles, and Design Patterns.
- Experience designing and developing Microservices Architecture.
- Good understanding of Database Concepts, SQL, and data modelling.
- Basic working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Nice to have
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Knowledge of Git and source code management practices.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
- Exposure to Banking or Financial Services domain.
- Experience working with JIRA or similar Agile project management tools.
