Backend Developer

Job Description

Silver Bell Group is seeking a Java Backend Developer to join our growing IT/IS team. In this role, you’ll focus on the development of robust, scalable server-side logic, efficient database structures, and high-performance APIs. You will play a key role in managing the interchange of data between our backend systems and end users, ensuring responsiveness and reliability.

While Java is the primary language used in this role, familiarity with other backend technologies such as C#, Go (Golang), or Rust is considered a strong advantage but not required. A working knowledge of front-end technologies is also helpful, as you’ll collaborate closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements into various applications.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic

  • Build reusable, efficient, and scalable code and libraries

  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability

  • Design and implement effective data storage solutions

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a backend development role

  • Strong proficiency in Java for building low-latency, high-performance server-side applications

  • Knowledge of other languages such as C#, Go (Golang), or Rust is a plus, not a requirement

  • Good knowledge of Python is a plus for scripting, automation, or analytics tasks

  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB)

  • Familiarity with GRPC, Protobuf, and RESTful APIs

  • Experience in trading platforms or protocols like FIX 4.4 is a significant plus
