About the role

We are looking for a Java Content Engineer with strong XML and Java experience to join an international engineering environment focused on large scale content platforms and publishing systems.

Hybrid work model, 3 days onsite office work weekly

This is not a typical backend Java role.

The position is focused on structured content processing, XML transformation workflows, publishing technologies, APIs, and content enrichment systems that power IBFD’s global Tax Research Platform.

You will collaborate closely with development, product, UX, and infrastructure teams while contributing to modern content engineering solutions and platform evolution.

You will be employed through Talcom, and work for our client IBFD, a globally recognized organization specialized in international tax research and publishing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain content processing and publishing solutions using Java and XML technologies

• Design and improve XML transformation and enrichment workflows

• Build APIs, services, and document conversion solutions

• Work on structured content delivery for online platforms

• Collaborate with product, UX, development, and infrastructure teams

• Participate in technical solution design and architecture discussions

• Improve existing systems, tooling, and engineering processes

• 5+ years of experience with Java development

• Strong hands on experience with XML technologies and structured content systems

• Experience with XML, XSLT, XQuery, XML Schema, DTD, and Schematron

• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and REST APIs

• Experience working in Agile environments

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Docker and Kubernetes

• Microservices architecture

• RDF, OWL, SPARQL, or semantic web technologies

• Publishing systems or enterprise CMS platforms

• PDF, EPUB, or XML based publishing workflows
