Work you’ll do/Responsibilities
As a Full Stack Java Spring Boot Developer, you will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications and microservices that integrate with REST APIs and databases. In this client-facing Consultant role, you will collaborate with technical teams, product stakeholders, and clients to deliver secure, high-performing solutions aligned with business objectives. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle while supporting Agile delivery, continuous improvement, and high-quality engineering practices. Deloitte’s Java capabilities emphasize cloud-native development, microservices, REST, Spring, relational and NoSQL databases, and DevOps practices. 1
- Build and maintain full-stack applications using Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and distribute microservices using clean, scalable, and testable design patterns.
- Create responsive, accessible user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Design and optimize database integrations using SQL, Hibernate/JPA, and Spring Data with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Implement application security practices, including OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and secure handling of sensitive data.
- Support CI/CD and cloud deployment activities using Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical design discussions, peer code reviews, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and automated testing.
- Communicate effectively with client and internal stakeholders, translating business needs into practical technical solutions.
- Adjust and align working hours, as needed, to support client teams and collaboration across EST and CST time zones.
- Design and develop new backend API functionality to enhance specialist referral performance and user experience

Qualifications
Required
- 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on full-stack web application development in a client-facing, consulting, or delivery environment.
- 4+ years of experience developing applications with Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- 3+ years of experience designing, developing, or consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices or distributed application architectures.
- 3+ years of experience building applications that integrate with relational databases through SQL, Hibernate/JPA, Spring Data, or comparable ORM technologies.
- 2+ years of experience developing responsive front-end applications using JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one modern framework, such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- 2+ years of experience writing unit and integration tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, or TestNG, along with experience participating in peer code reviews.
- 1+ year of experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, or cloud deployment technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- 1+ year of experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and iterative client delivery..
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $ 82,200to $131000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
