Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Mainframe Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our core banking and enterprise systems. In this role, you will work with COBOL and a range of mainframe technologies within an agile, collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to grow their skills while working on mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications (both online and batch)
  • Work with CICS, VSAM, and JCL to support and enhance mainframe systems
  • Manage job scheduling and automation using Control-M
  • Participate in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within an Agile (Scrum) framework
  • Track and manage tasks and workflows using Jira

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Mainframe/COBOL Developer
  • Hands-on knowledge of COBOL (online and batch)
  • Experience with CICS, VSAM, and JCL
  • Familiarity with Control-M for job scheduling
  • Proven experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum
  • Understanding of continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices, ideally supported by Jira
  • English skills at an A2 level or above

Nice to have

  • Experience with VAX systems
  • Knowledge of the Altamira core banking platform
  • Experience using ChangeMan for source code version control and change management
