Who are we looking for?We are seeking a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detail Design engineering, preparing Electrical and Instrumentation design deliverables, and related activities such as material requisitions. The role requires strong leadership in ensuring engineering quality, compliance with standards, and safety while collaborating across disciplines and supporting project execution from design through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:· Acquire and understand Project goals from Contracts and kick-off meetings.· Review and prepare discipline-specific documents, drawings, data-sheets, reports, and philosophies.· Vet subcontractor/vendor design work to ensure compliance with company standards and industry codes.· Assist with resolving field problems and engineering issues throughout project phases.· Manage quality and consistency within the discipline using approved work procedures.· Monitor design contractors' performance, recommending remedial actions where needed.· Participate in HAZOPs and critical design reviews.· Organize meetings with contractors, stakeholders, and engineers to resolve design issues.· Review shop fabrication drawings for compliance with contract specifications and standards.· Maintain updated drawings and registers with the Document Controller.· Drive continuous improvement through effective communication, challenge, and support.· Ensure HSE principles are integrated into design, keeping risks ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable).· Build strong collaborative relationships across disciplines and with senior engineers.· Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.· Integrate learnings and best practices from previous and ongoing projects.· Mentor new Technical Professionals and junior team members.· Produce project documentation deliverables such as WMS, Procedures, and ITPs.· Provide technical support to project teams and participate in technical and internal review activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of a University degree (B.Eng., B.Sc.) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years post-graduation experience, with at least 6 years in engineering/construction and commissioning, and 3 years as a senior discipline engineer or project position in a reputable organization (preferably Oil & Gas).
- Proficiency in CAD and engineering software such as MS Windows, Excel, MS Office, Auto-cad, Navisworks, MS Project, or Oracle Primavera.
- Thorough understanding of Electrical and Instrumentation engineering principles, construction methods, and safety regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems creatively and analytically.
- Extremely detail-oriented and committed to high-quality standards.
