Lead Software Engineer (Java)
(Hybrid/Kraków – 1 day per week in the office)

About the role
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will combine hands-on software development with technical leadership, helping to design, build, and evolve scalable, high-quality software solutions.
You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver business value while driving technical excellence across the team.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver business value.
- Provide technical leadership and support key architectural and technology decisions.
- Contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and ongoing support.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, reliability, performance, and security through engineering best practices.
- Support modern development processes, including continuous integration, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
- Mentor and support other engineers, encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
- Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and engineering practices across the team.
- Extensive hands-on experience developing backend applications using Java and Kotlin.
- Proven experience designing and building scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions, including distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, engineering best practices, and modern design patterns.
- Experience working with AWS and cloud-native technologies.
- Familiarity with Kafka
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and REST
- Solid knowledge of modern software development practices, including automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, make architectural decisions, and provide guidance on complex engineering challenges.
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting the technical growth of team members.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams.
- A pragmatic approach to software engineering, balancing technical excellence with business needs and delivery goals.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
