Responsibilities
We’re seeking an amazing Lead Software Engineer to join the PCAF Test Enablement Innovation Team. You’ll work in a fast-paced, creative environment to deliver software solutions that help business partners improve testing, business processes, and services.
This role emphasizes end-to-end execution—from solution design and development to deployment—and a mindset focused on innovation, including agentic AI, GenAI, and cloud/platform engineering.
You’ll have opportunities to lead small development teams, collaborate with engineers across the department, and influence improvements to test strategy, operational workflows, and software delivery practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using python pyspark, Angular, and Go.
- Apply AI tools and techniques, including GenAI development, Agents, and LLM-based models, to build intelligent solutions that enhance test and product capabilities.
- Collaborate with Modernization teams to develop innovative solutions to accelerate software development life cycle delivery.
- Build and optimize AI and Cloud workflows (including pipelines, orchestration, and integrations).
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and best practices to continuously improve our AI capabilities.
Qualifications
Desired Experience
- Python pyspark, Terraform, APIs, JSON, Angular, React
- AWS (Lambda, EC2, SQS, S3, Cloudfront, API gateway, SNS, Route53)
- Experience in cloud architecture and development
- Focused on integrating DevSecOps practices in their work
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Angular for frontend development.
- Experience with Go for backend is a plus.
- Applied experience using AI tools and frameworks, specifically:
- Generative AI development (GenAI)
- Agent-based AI solutions
- Large Language Model (LLM) integration and deployment
Non-Technical Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, and empower others
- Ability to adapt quickly in a changing, high-velocity environment
- Preferred: P&C experience
- Comfortable resolving highly complex problems using expert knowledge across multiple application types
- Comfortable working within an Onsite/Offshore delivery model
Our Benefits
Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!
- Potential starting salary range: $107,000 - $135,000
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 10% of base salary
