The role is responsible for developing and maintaining curriculum, lesson materials, assessments, and scenario-based training aligned with operations procedures, mission objectives, and customer expectations.  In addition, the candidate will provide instructor-led training, facilitate learning events, and support qualification and readiness activities to ensure personnel are prepared to perform mission monitoring, mission status reporting, course of action development, Launch and Early Operations (LEOPS), anomaly response, and other mission support functions.

The candidate will work closely with Government and Contractor personnel to incorporate lessons learned, improve training effectiveness, and ensure courseware and instruction remain aligned with evolving mission requirements. The ideal candidate combines operational space experience with strong instructional delivery, curriculum development, and training coordination skills and thrives in a dynamic, high-tempo mission environment.

Essential Functions:
•    Develop, update, and maintain space operations training curricula for operational and support personnel, ensuring alignment with mission requirements, system configuration changes, operational procedures, and customer standards.
•    Conduct periodic reviews and revisions of training materials, lesson plans, student guides, instructor guides, job aids, checklists, and other training products to ensure accuracy, relevance, and instructional effectiveness.
•    Design and apply Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles to create classroom, blended, and hands-on training solutions for space operations systems and mission activities.
•    Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver formal and informal instruction in classroom, lab, simulator, and operational environments.
•    Facilitate initial qualification, continuation, refresher, and upgrade training for operators and support personnel.
•    Lead or support training meetings, curriculum working groups, operational update briefings, exercises, strategic planning sessions, and tool demonstrations; provide subject matter expertise on system functionality, operational workflows, and training impacts.
•    Provide hands-on system instruction and performance-based training to operators and mission support personnel, as required.
•    Maintain proficiency in assigned operational systems, mission applications, and space operations concepts within the contract portfolio.
•    Develop training documentation and visual instructional materials, including step-by-step procedures, system screenshots, workflows, annotated references, and multimedia content to support learning objectives.
•    Assess training effectiveness through student feedback, instructor observations, knowledge checks, and operational performance indicators; recommend and implement curriculum improvements.
•    Maintain awareness of system development efforts, software/hardware updates, and operational changes; update training materials, job aids, and reference products accordingly.
•    Support system integration, developmental test, operational test, and transition activities as a user representative and training SME to ensure training requirements are incorporated early in the lifecycle.
•    Collaborate with operations, engineering, test, and program stakeholders to identify training needs and ensure courseware reflects current operational capabilities and constraints.
•    Support exercise planning and execution by developing training scenarios, operator preparation materials, and mission rehearsal content, as applicable.
•    Travel up to 10% in support of training delivery, customer meetings, integration events, and mission-related activities.

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
•    Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with SAP eligibility.
•    Minimum 3 years of experience applying Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies, such as ADDIE or DoD/USSF training development processes, to the development and maintenance of technical or operational training programs.
•    Minimum 3 years of experience in space operations, launch and early orbit operations (LEOPS), satellite command and control, mission operations, or closely related aerospace/defense operations.

Preferred Additional Skills:

•    Completion of an accredited military or civilian instructor course, curriculum development course, or equivalent formal instructional certification.
•    Experience with Satellite Command and Control (Sat C2) operations.
•    Experience in space mission operations, orbital warfare, space domain awareness, launch operations, on-orbit operations, or related mission areas.
•    Experience developing training for classified systems or within secure operational environments.
•    Familiarity with U.S. Space Force, DoD, or Intelligence Community training development standards and operational mission sets.
•    Experience with simulator-based training, scenario-based instruction, or performance-based evaluations.
•    Experience supporting new system fielding, operational transition, or training program stand-up activities.
•    Proficiency with courseware development tools, learning management systems, and multimedia training products.
•    Prior instructor, evaluator, or certifier experience in an operational mission environment.
•    Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, instructor guides, student materials, job aids, and assessment tools for technical training environments.
•    Experience delivering instructor-led training to operational, technical, or mission support audiences.
•    Demonstrated ability to translate complex system functionality, operational procedures, and technical concepts into effective training content for adult learners.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present material clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic operational environment with evolving requirements and system baselines.
