Logistics and Facilities Support Associate-Part Time

Position Title: Logistics and Facilities Support Associate
 

Compensation:  $20/hour

Summary: To perform general and preventative maintenance services and related repairs to district buildings, structures, machinery and equipment.

Qualifications: 

Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
 

• Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person's offense in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.1. 
• Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2.
• Pass the state-required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3.
• A valid driver's license is required.   
• Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school director finds appropriate and acceptable.

The physical demands and work environment factors described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.  

• Requires prolonged sitting or standing
• Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials.
• Requires the ability to work in noisy and crowded environments.
• Occasionally requires stooping, bending, or reaching. 
• Requires traveling.
• Requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when dealing with certain chemicals or situations

Job Responsibilities:

 

• Transport furniture by picking up and delivering items promptly and efficiently.
• Operate delivery vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with school custodial team members during loading and unloading at schools.
• Ensure accurate loading and unloading of products using appropriate equipment, verifying items beforehand.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and storage warehouses.
• Demonstrate adaptability in various conditions through hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software. 
• Keep a valid regular driver's license with no recent moving violations.
• Conduct regular inspections on iLearn-owned vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns, performing preventative maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck cabin and sweep at the end of each shift.
• Organize and maintain accessibility of furniture in the warehouse.
• Ensure the intact transport and delivery of all items.
• Assist with other facility needs, such as maintenance repairs, snow removal, ground keeping, and janitorial duties as required.
  
   

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Have demonstrated work experience as a driver with knowledge of relevant regulations.
• Ability to operate various delivery vehicles, such as box trucks, vans, and pick-up trucks.
• Capable of lifting heavy objects and performing physical tasks associated with loading and unloading deliveries.
• Able to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and stretching during shifts up to 8 hours long.
• Proficient in lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving boxes weighing up to 75 pounds each.
• Ability to navigate stairs while moving goods.
• Skilled in assembling/disassembling furniture and providing minor repairs as needed.
• Is able to work the custodial schedule which includes December break and Spring Break duties as well as assist with snow removal even when schools are closed
