Responsibilities

A Low Current Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of low-current systems in commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects. These systems include security, communications, fire alarm, networking, audio-visual, and building management systems. The engineer ensures that all systems comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. 

Design & Engineering 

  • Design and develop low-current systems according to project requirements. 
  • Prepare system layouts, schematics, and shop drawings. 
  • Review project specifications, BOQs, and technical documents. 
  • Select suitable equipment and materials based on project needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards. 

Installation & Implementation 

  • Supervise installation and integration of low-current systems. 
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines. 
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion. 
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks. 

Testing & Commissioning 

  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning. 
  • Verify system functionality and performance. 
  • Prepare commissioning reports and handover documentation. 
  • Provide technical support during system startup and operation.
