Cooperates with: All departments

Primary Responsibility:

The EHS Manager is responsible for leading MIRATECH's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across all manufacturing facilities, field service operations, project sites, and support functions. This position serves as both a strategic and operational leader, ensuring compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations while driving continuous improvement in safety performance, environmental compliance, and culture throughout the organization. The EHS Manager develops and implements company-wide EHS programs, leads incident investigations, manages environmental and safety compliance activities, oversees EHS systems and reporting, and partners with operational leadership to proactively identify and mitigate risk while fostering a culture where safety is a core value and every employee is empowered to stop work when unsafe conditions exist. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Field Services, Human Resources, and site leadership to ensure a safe and compliant work environment and support MIRATECH's commitment to operational excellence.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for all Environmental, Health, and Safety activities across MIRATECH facilities, field operations, and project sites.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, standards, and safe work practices to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Champion MIRATECH's Safety Promise and stop-work authority culture, ensuring every employee, contractor, and visitor understands their responsibility and authority to halt work when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to support daily operational huddles, safety communications, incident reviews, near-miss discussions, and recognition of safety successes, ensuring safety remains integrated into day-to-day business operations.
  • Foster and reinforce a "Think Before You Act" safety culture by coaching employees and leaders to proactively assess risk, make informed decisions, and avoid pressure-driven or reactive behaviors that may compromise safety, quality, environmental compliance, or operational performance.
  • Drive accountability for safe behaviors and compliance expectations at all levels of the organization while recognizing and reinforcing positive safety leadership and employee engagement.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture by promoting employee engagement, hazard recognition, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead safety communications including toolbox talks, safety meetings, stand-downs, leadership reviews, and employee awareness programs.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, property damage events, environmental events, and high-potential incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure proper classification, documentation, reporting, and follow-up of all incidents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage EHS management systems, including Cority or similar platforms, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain key EHS performance metrics including TRIR, DART, recordable incidents, near misses, environmental events, corrective actions, audit findings, and training compliance.
  • Prepare and present EHS performance reports, dashboards, and trend analyses for executive leadership review.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support operational teams in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating workplace hazards and environmental risks.
  • Lead regulatory compliance efforts, including inspections, audits, permits, documentation management, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices, recommending updates to company policies and programs as necessary.

Environmental Compliance:

  • Own and manage MIRATECH's environmental compliance programs across company facilities and applicable field operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable air, water, waste, stormwater, spill prevention, hazardous materials, and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Maintain environmental permits, registrations, plans, records, and regulatory documentation as required by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Oversee hazardous waste, universal waste, used oil, chemical storage, labeling, disposal, and related environmental management practices.
  • Coordinate environmental inspections, agency interactions, reporting deadlines, corrective actions, and compliance follow-up activities.
  • Support facility leaders in maintaining proper environmental controls, housekeeping practices, spill response readiness, and pollution prevention measures.
  • Lead or support spill investigations, environmental incident response, agency notifications, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, and Production leadership to evaluate environmental impacts associated with new equipment, process changes, facility expansions, acquisitions, and new product introductions.
  • Develop and deliver environmental compliance training for employees and supervisors as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce environmental risk, improve compliance consistency, and strengthen MIRATECH's environmental management practices.

Field Service and Project Safety:

  • Support field service, commissioning, and project operations by establishing minimum safety requirements and reviewing high-risk activities and project plans.
  • Participate in project safety reviews involving electrical safety, arc flash hazards, lifting operations, confined space entry, hot work, working at heights, and other high-risk activities.
  • Coordinate and support incident response activities involving customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Training and Workforce Development:

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety training programs including hazard recognition, lockout/tagout, PPE, fall protection, respiratory protection, electrical safety, environmental compliance, and other applicable topics.
  • Coordinate occupational health programs including respirator fit testing, medical evaluations, hearing conservation, and other employee health initiatives.
  • Identify training gaps and develop improvement plans to enhance workforce competency and safety awareness.

Cross-Site Coordination and Contractor Management:

  • Partner with EHS coordinators, site leadership, and operational teams to standardize safety and environmental practices, procedures, reporting, and expectations across all MIRATECH locations.
  • Conduct EHS audits and assessments of contractors, suppliers, and third-party service providers to ensure compliance with MIRATECH standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor contractor safety and environmental performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Emergency Response and Employee Support:

  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning activities, including coordination with local emergency response organizations as required.
  • Ensure emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, spill response procedures, and business continuity considerations are maintained and periodically reviewed.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources regarding injury reporting, workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, fitness-for-duty matters, and employee accommodation processes.

Organizational Leadership:

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and oversight to EHS personnel and support staffing, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Participate in operational planning, leadership reviews, and strategic initiatives to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Support acquisitions, facility expansions, new product introductions, and operational changes by evaluating associated EHS risks and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
