Job description

Job Overview

The Manufacturing Chief Engineer for Software and Modules is responsible for leading and coordinating software and electronic module industrialization across North America manufacturing programs. This role serves as the regional single-thread owner, ensuring alignment with global MCE Software strategy while maintaining a primary focus on North America launches and plant readiness.

The position works closely with global teams, regional program leadership, engineering, and plant organizations to ensure seamless integration, execution, and delivery of software solutions within manufacturing environments. The role is critical to achieving successful program launches with minimal disruption to plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead software and electronic module industrialization activities across North America programs
  • Define Design for Manufacturing (DfM) requirements and ensure alignment with plant constraints
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between engineering, manufacturing, and MCE teams
  • Drive plant readiness including validation of electrical systems, tools, and training
  • Lead vehicle software integration and implementation in Manufacturing during launch phases
  • Manage Electrical and Software issue resolution and escalation during program launches
  • Align software deployment strategies and capital investment (CAPEX) across programs
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement and standardization

Key Deliverables

  • Clearly defined and approved manufacturing requirements for software
  • Validated plant software and electrical readiness including tools, systems, and workforce training
  • Software maturity aligned with North America launch timing and production requirements
  • Minimal disruption to plant operations due to software changes
  • Consistent deployment and CAPEX strategy across programs



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of automotive manufacturing or engineering experience
  • Experience supporting product launches and plant implementation
  • Strong knowledge of production systems, quality processes, and electrical/test systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience with electrical/software integration in manufacturing environments
  • Experience in unionized automotive manufacturing environments
  • Six Sigma or continuous improvement certification
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
