Long Description
You will be the Program Manufacturing Engineer supporting Affortability/IRAD and MAC efforts as part of Air Dominance Operations team. Our team is responsible for creating and improving manufacturing strategies for complex missile assemblies, and we play a crucial role in developing and implementing solutions for technical and organizational challenges.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for driving improvement initiatives that support Air Dominance Production Operations. You will be tasked with improving the overall process of the build using complex, cutting edge technologies and automation.
- Supporting and participating in the strategy and execution of cost reduction initiatives across LM Sites and supply base.
- Support design, fabrication, assembly, validation, and deployment of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems that includes automated components such as robots, conveyors, vision systems and programmable controllers.
- Influencing design for manufacturability and ensuring producibility of complex electro‑mechanical systems.
- Capital planning and execution, vendor/integrator engagement, and project management activities to deploy automated solutions at multiple sites across MFC.
- Approximately 10% travel may be required to facilitate projects within LM sites and supply base.
Standard Job Description
Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or STEM Related Discipline
· Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
· Experience working within cross-functional groups, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various teams and stakeholders
· Technical knowledge and experiences in the areas of defensive and aerospace manufacturing, process development and production testing.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance, therefore must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills
· At least 1+ year prior experience in a manufacturing role directly supporting the shop floor.
· Working knowledge of Electro-Mechanical assembly processes.
· Knowledge of Digital Transformation and Automation Processes in a Manufacturing Assembly Environment.
· Experience facilitating design reviews with cross-functional departments and stakeholders, using CAD, PowerPoint, and other visualization tools
· Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing, concepts, and techniques
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00
