Job description

About Standard Bots

Standard Bots is developing the next generation of industrial robots—hardware that is powerful, affordable, and built for scalability. As we move rapidly from prototype to high-volume production, we require program management infrastructure that can keep pace. This role is integral to achieving that goal.

We are vertically integrating our core manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, finishing, and casting. This strategy is essential for maintaining the speed, resilience, and cost-efficiency of our robot production as we scale.

Note: This is a full-time, on-site role at our Glen Cove, NY manufacturing facility and HQ.

The Role

Owning how a strategy becomes reality. Taking an ambiguous, high-stakes mandate and standing up the program behind it; structuring the work, building the plan, managing internal and external partners, and driving it to a decision leadership can act on and a plan the organization can execute. It is a high-ownership, high-ambiguity role with direct CEO visibility, sitting at the intersection of manufacturing, corporate strategy, and program execution.

What You'll Do

  • Establish programs. Transform an ambiguous strategic mandate into organized work-streams, assign owners, set milestones, and create a budget. Designing the operating system that supports the entire effort.

  • Build the plan. Convert strategy into decision-grade plans: requirements definition, options analysis, cost models, and a costed, sequenced recommendation.

  • Own execution. Drive work-streams to completion, hold the schedule and budget, manage dependencies, and clear blockers before they stall the program.

  • Manage stakeholders and partners. Coordinate internal functions (engineering, supply chain, finance) and external partners and consultants; scope engagements and hold them to budget and deadline.

  • Quantify the decision. Build and own the financial models, make-vs-buy, CapEx, breakeven, unit economics that leadership decisions rest on.

  • Drive to a decision. Synthesize the work into executive-grade readouts and move leadership to a clear, timely call.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years leading cross-functional programs to executive decisions in manufacturing/operations, corporate strategy or BizOps at a hardware company, or management consulting with genuine industrial exposure.

  • Demonstrated ownership of a complex, ambiguous effort driven from strategy through to an executable plan.

  • Financial-modeling fluency: breakeven, CapEx, unit economics, and enough M&A literacy (EBITDA multiples) to own and pressure-test a make-vs-buy model.

  • Executive communication: structured written synthesis and board-quality presentations.

  • Vendor and consultant management, scoping and holding external partners to budget and deadline.

  • Comfort operating without a playbook, at startup pace, with direct executive exposure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior make-vs-buy, re-shoring, capacity-expansion, or M&A-evaluation experience.

  • Working literacy across manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, finishing, casting).

  • Experience standing up a shop, plant, or lab from scratch.

  • Robotics or precision-hardware background.

  • PMP or equivalent

  • Experience working with Long Island/NY-metro manufacturing organizations.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000. We are open to a variety of seniority levels for this role and will build compensation packages that are commensurate with seniority and skill level. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
