Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and staging of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods within a manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring materials are available when needed and maintains accurate inventory records.

Hours: Monday - Friday  6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Wage: $20-$24 per hour based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport raw materials, paper stock, dies, and finished products between storage areas and production lines.
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Stage materials for printing and die cutting operations according to production schedules.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of material storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Label and document incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
  • Follow safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Dispose of scrap materials in accordance with company and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or printing environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

Fast-paced production floor with exposure to noise, ink, paper dust, and machinery. Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
