Job Description

Position: Material Handler

Department: Logistics Department

Functional Area: Shipping Department

Classification :  Non-Exempt  Exempt

Reporting Structure: Reports to Warehouse Supervisor

Educational Background Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills, Training, Experience:

  • License Certification Required: Forklift License­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ ­­­­ Frequency: Every three years
  • Good customer service skills (internal and external customers)
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to change work schedule or work overtime based on company needs. 
  • Detail oriented; attention to detail; team player
  • Basic knowledge of SAP; basic computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong work ethics
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high stress environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision
  • Understanding of the importance of accurate customer requirements and inventory control

 

Job Content: Essential Functions Required for Job

  • Complete daily inspection on forklift.
  • Perform daily dock audits for all outbound shipment using the defined audit process. 
  • Match the customer stamped part number on the parts to the HU label.
  • Match the part numbers on the HU label to the Z-sheet
  • Match the part numbers on the HU label to the B10, stamp or initial B10 if everything matches
  • Ensure Affixed shipping labels on packed cartons and container match the ship to location
  • Taking pictures of compliance violations with timely & accurate reporting
  • Log and report findings to Supervisor, production and QC team. 
  • Document all inspections
  • Work closely with Shipping Clerks for last-minute changes to customer JIT requirements and dunnage supply.
  • Keep supervisor, team leadership informed regarding conditions on the dock, accomplishments and concerns; contributes suggestions for improvements.
  • Assist with training new staff as needed.
  • Maintain a positive and strong working relationship with team members from all departments.
  • Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, ISO Initiatives and procedures.
  • Maintain 6S housekeeping in storage area & offices
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • External Vendors, contractors, and transportation personnel.
