About the job

The Material Controller is responsible for monitoring materials issued from the warehouse and tracking their installation across the project construction sites (e.g., substations, transformers, cabling). The role involves maintaining accurate records of material usage and generating summary reports for all items consumed and installed on-site.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Record and track all materials issued from the warehouse to the site.
  • Monitor the installation and use of materials across different site locations or substations.
  • Ensure that material consumption data aligns with project progress and schedules.
  • Update material status regularly in the tracking system or ERP software.
  • Maintain clear records for each item, including quantities requested, received, and installed.
  • Prepare detailed and summarized reports showing total quantities of all materials used and installed.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site management and project controls.
  • Work closely with site engineers, warehouse teams, and planners to validate material movements.
  • Resolve any discrepancies between issued materials and actual usage or installation records.
  • Assist in audits and reviews by providing accurate historical data on material.

 

Qualifications/Experience required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related Discipline from a respectable University

Experience:

+2 Years in Material control and stock management
in database management, materials management, or a related field, preferably within construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries.

Proficient in database software and management systems, such as SQL, Microsoft Access, or similar tools.

Strong understanding of materials procurement, inventory control, and supply chain processes.

Experience in data entry, validation, and maintenance of material records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Ability to analyze and generate reports on material usage, inventory levels, and procurement needs.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing large volumes of data.

Good communication skills for collaborating with procurement teams, project managers, and suppliers.

Language Requirements:

Arabic & English is a must, French is a plus.
