Job description

POSITION TITLE:         MBA Program Administrator (MBA-PAS) and Accounting Programs Coordinator (substitute to approx. March 1, 2027)

CLASSIFICATION:       Classification “VII” per Schedule A of the collective agreement
            
DEPARTMENT:             Odette School of Business

HOURS OF WORK:      Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The purpose of this position is to lead the student recruitment and admissions, the day-to-day administration, promotion, and marketing of the MBA-Professional Accounting Specialization program. The incumbent will liaise with CPA Ontario and ensure that all accreditation guidelines for accounting programs at the Odette School of Business are adhered to and measured in accordance with CPA Ontario guidelines. This role will coordinate the CPA mentorship program by engaging current students, alumni, and corporate partners to prepare MBA-PAS candidates for a professional designation in accounting,

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate will possess:

•    Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent business degree)

•    3 years of professional experience within a higher-education context performing duties related to academic advising, program coordination, and implementation

•    Demonstrable understanding of the CPA designation related requirements; experience with and/or advising as related to the CPA education, examinations, and practical experience requirements.

•    Understanding of the CPA Ontario accreditation process and requirements as it relates to Post Secondary Institutions

•    Demonstrable knowledge of Odette programs and courses

•    Demonstrable experience in sales or recruiting (2 years)

•    Thorough understanding of the University environment

•    Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•    Excellent conflict resolution skills

•    Excellent organization and interpersonal skills (high level of interaction with students)

•    Demonstrable technical computing skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, internet, e-mail, and database software packages

•    Willing to work a flexible schedule including some nights and/or weekends as required

•    Ability and desire to continuously learn

•    Ability to work with minimal supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Master of Business Administration degree or related graduate degree as determined by the department
