Job Summary

Our team, based in Ireland will be pioneering the development of next generation storage platforms to handle the exponential growth of data and the data intensive demands of more modern applications such as machine learning or artificial intelligence. This is your chance to build and work with a group of talented developers, impart your vision, and rapidly launch the latest storage platforms.

We are currently looking for an exceptional leader to add to our team. As a Senior Manager for Platform Software & Firmware you will be responsible for leading and managing a high-performance team that delivers embedded software and firmware for a wide range of cutting-edge storage systems and flash-based performance enhancement modules. You will lead teams through design, implementation, and support of projects to solve our customers’ big data challenges.  Throughout this process, you will also manage the growth and development of team members.

Job Requirements

  • Lead a team of high-performing software and firmware development engineers.
  • Lead software/firmware project teams through all phases of the product development cycle.
  • Effective work with JDM/ODM partners and 3rd party software vendors in the development and sustenance of software and firmware
  • Effectively work across organizations with other partner teams in various other functions such as software, hardware, quality assurance, manufacturing and customer support teams
  • Effective work with teams across multiple geographic locations and time zones
  • Ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of software and firmware
  • Provide coaching and career development for members of the team.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with C/C++, Python, kernel programming, and storage systems & servers
  • Experience with operating system such as Linux and FreeBSD.
  • Experience with BIOS and BMC firmware development.
  • Have a strong understanding of computer architecture, data structures and programming practices
  • Experience delivering software on time & quality with a clear understanding of the software development cycle, technical requirements, and project management
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineers
  • Experience working with ODM/JDM vendors delivering storage platforms and experience working with 3rd party software vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex, critical projects is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as an individual contributor and a minimum of 5 years as a people manager is required.

Education

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a master's degree, or equivalent experience is required.
