    JOB GOAL:  Assist the principal in providing a safe, well-monitored environment for all students.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    Current First Aid/CPR Certification
    Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents.
    Organized and efficient manager of time.
    Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

    This is not an instructional position subject to meeting the state minimum employment requirements.

    Performance, Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Provide for the safety of students at assigned work area by enforcing the rules for the site.
    2. Administer basic First Aid and assistance to students.
    3. Help settle disputes between students through problem-solving methods.
    4. Report and document serious concerns/incidents to the school administration.
    5. Be aware of potentially hazardous conditions in the assigned work area.
    6. Promote opportunities for cooperative interaction/play between students as appropriate
      to the assigned work area.
    7. Help monitor special circumstances/needs for individual children.
    8. Work cooperatively with other staff members in the school.
    9. Keep track of playground equipment on a daily basis.
    10. Be a positive role model for children.
    11. Work with students in behavioral remediation settings.
    12. Perform other duties as assigned.


    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    Job duties involve sitting, walking, standing, stooping, crouching and climbing. May be exposed to high noise levels. May be required to deal with distraught students. Work is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

    Reports TO:         Building Principal

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
     
    Work Year:      180 days, regular school year (plus paid holidays that fall within the work year calendar)
    Hours:              6.0 hours per day
    Schedule:         Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:35 am - 3:45 pm  (hours subject to change based on student/operational need)
    Salary:             2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule A
                            $22.90 - $25.78 per hour DOE
                                  
    Evaluation: Performance is evaluated by the building principal with input from other staff as appropriate

    Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours an employee is anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Employees anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability and the employee assistance program.

Benefit eligible employees also qualify to optionally participate in deferred compensation/403B plans, dependent care flexible spending/health savings accounts, and additional life insurance and/or added long-term disability coverage through employee contributions.  Sick leave, vacation, personal leave, and any paid holidays are aligned with bargaining agreements by association, as listed on our website.

     

    Other benefits include VEBA, which is a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and serves as a way to contribute dollars on a pre-tax basis for out of pocket benefits costs, whether it be for medical, dental or vision premiums, or any other out of pocket medical expenses. This benefit is available, based on the outcome of annual voting of employees by group.
